Audio
Audio comes from the main submix of the captured world’s own audio device.
- Each MP4 segment carries an AAC-LC track, 48 kHz stereo at 128 kbps.
- A 48 kHz 16-bit stereo WAV is written beside each segment, named like the MP4 (
<seat>-0001.wav). - Gaps, pauses, hitches, and a missing audio device are filled with silence and counted in the manifest.
- If the machine has no AAC encoder, the MP4 is written video-only and the WAV is kept. The manifest reports the MP4 audio status as
unavailable.
While an audio recording runs, the plugin turns on the editor’s background audio setting in memory, so an unfocused editor does not record silence. It restores the setting afterwards and saves nothing to config. The manifest field appMutedSeconds reports time the application was muted.

PresentationCapture.Record.AudioWhileUnfocused | 1 | 0 leaves the editor background audio setting alone. |
Audio and video timing data is recorded on the same clock as the video. I have not verified audible sync on every setup, so check a test clip in your own project before relying on it.
